Suppresses sea sickness and is used commercially to this day.
Used during First World War as an anesthetic.
This extremely useful tree is also potentially dangerous. Timber cutters in the middle to later part of the last century were affected by this tree.
Some of these men subsequently died. A significant number of these men were Aboriginal. Harvesting of these trees took place in the local area. At the time nobody realised how dangerous this tree was.
There are a number of species of Corkwood. A number of these are harmless but possess useful qualities.
